The non-profit-social service job is sometimes considered more as a vocation rather than a career. People who succeed and felt satisfied in this job is normally those that are not too much on what the job can bring them but what they can give to the job. This is basically about servicing society thus getting oneself involved with the poor and the marginalized members of the society.

The non-profit-social service job is not for everyone as it will entail one to be totally selfless and people oriented to be happy with this job. It can be at times emotionally consuming but can be spiritually rewarding at the same time. This field of work can be diverse as there are so many areas to get involved with when performing a function it. Since social service involves a lot of helping different aspect of the society, there are many areas to choose from.

The key is to make the world better by making one aspect of the society better. A lot of people are more inclined in helping children when involved with this job. There are abused children that greatly need assistance. Women and older people also is a great majority that need helping. The government already have their hands full with so many problem of the society that private organizations are needed to address a certain need of the society. Whatever areas you are interested on, for as long as the goal is to generally help the society, there can be an area you will like in this job.

If your reason for working is to earn a tremendous amount of money that can support members of your family then this may not be a job for you.
