General labor jobs are those that do not require that much expertise, though many people are in general labor and are skilled enough to do them, either from working for years or from theoretical learning. Either way, general laborers could do so many things in many different jobs. They could be office assistants, or newspaper deliverers, sales managers, welders, machinists and many others.

A general laborer isn’t required to have education, but he is required to have skills. Because there are many different jobs under this job category, it would be hard to make assumptions as to how they work and how much they get paid for their jobs.

Some general laborers do jobs like repair and maintenance. These people earn $9 to around $20 every hour, with around $19,000 to $47,000 salaries every year. These are general technicians, maintenance operators and engineers. More than 90% of general laborers are male, and they have a little margin of salary over females on the same job too. Most of them work in property management, hotel, healthcare and residential repair and maintenance industries.

Construction workers are also considered general laborers. They earn an hourly rate of $9 to $25. Yearly, most of them could earn $20,000 to $61,000. Most of them work in construction sites as workers, contractors, excavators and aggregators. Nine in ten of construction workers are male, and more than half of them are not given any health benefits whatsoever.

Of course, there are other kinds of general labor jobs. As already said, some of them are office clerks and assistants. They gain around $8 to $16 an hour, with an average of $17,000 to just above $36,000 every year of earnings. Typically, these people would work in law firms, in government agencies, and schools. A survey of more than 2,000 people recorded that 80% of them were females, with an average hourly rate of $11.78. Most of these people have 1-4 years of experience in the field, and most of them are offered medical health benefits above all others.

General labor jobs are hard to do, because they are paid less than people who have had education to do their jobs right. However, this does not mean that they have less the talent. Most general laborers could earn skills that surpasses any education on a field, and this makes general labor a fine and decent job for those who want clean earnings.
