It is probably a new challenge that they eventually have to face after graduation. But it should not be that tough because accountancy is a degree that offers a lot of career options and the sweet part is that it pays very well. If you’re simply clueless about the variety of accounting jobs waiting for you, then you might want to consider the following careers that are in store.

Career option # 1: Internal Auditing

With the amount of tasks and duties they have to deal with everyday, internal auditors are busy guys whose responsibilities include analyzing data on a business perspective and finding solutions to problems. Typical internal auditors are often swamped with works related to business transactions. They are expected to create procedures to eliminate risks. Pay rates are somewhat handsome; ranging from $30 to $50 an hour but this also depends on the tenure.

Career option # 2: Bookkeeping

For jobseekers who don’t have related experience to back up their chances of getting a job, bookkeeping can be a smart option. A bookkeeper typically does what the title implies, which is bookkeeping. Bookkeepers are responsible for recording business transactions such as invoices, purchases, compensations and payments. For an entry-level job, pay which
ranges from $17 to $20 hour per hour, is not so bad.

Career option # 3: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Becoming a CPA requires one to pass an examination that consists of four parts intended to gauge the account’s knowledge. Duties of a CPA can be broad but this depends on the company but normally, a CPA is assigned to deal with taxes, finance and other forms of accounting that are quite complicated in nature. Pay rates are hefty – they can range from $50K to $80K and much more if you’re with the firm for a long time.

Career option # 3: General Ledger Accountant

The job of general ledger accountants normally includes determining balances and preparation of internal management deliverables. They are also tasked to review sales and tax principles.

Career option # 4: Treasury Analyst

Treasury analyst is a type of accounting job whose responsibilities often comprise of making themselves updated with bank relations and maintenance, stock ledgers and communication reports among other things. A treasury analyst can earn as much as $60,000 per annum.

Career option # 5: Comptroller

Also known as controller, this accounting job is considered to be senior position because experience is required. A comptroller is someone who does accounting supervision and who is specialized on business monitoring.
